'The Jay Leno Show' premieres tonight, and we've been hearing many things about it since it was announced. We've heard that it was going to change the face of TV, we've also heard how much of a colossal failure it will be.I'm going to make bold prediction here and say that Jay's first week will be a smashing success.
Jay has actually lucked out with his guests tonight. First we have Jerry Seinfeld who is still a big draw and will most likely draw big viewers.
But here is where Jay gets lucky. Let's flashback to last nights MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor Swift wins for Best Female Video and in the middle of her acceptance speech, Kanye West jumps up and snatches the microphone from her and starts saying how Beyonce should have won the award, making a real ass out of himself. Well, care to guess who Jay's other guest is tonight? That's right, the ass himself, Kanye West.
Now one thing that will cut into Jay's ratings will be Monday Night Football, but Jay's premiere was going to get a lot of coverage anyway, and now will even get more coverage. So that will draw viewers for at least the rest of the week.
It will still be too early to tell how the shows long term prospects will be, but as always, stay tuned!
