The nominations for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning. As usual there were surprises, both good and bad. Honestly, the fact that 'Southland' and 'Parenthood' were completely shut out of the major categories, while the same old names continue to get nominated year after year, is an absolute joke and shows how out of touch the academy is. While there were some very well deserved nominations, Ed O'Neill, Timothy Olyphant, Andre Braugher, Mireille Enos among them. The snubs are much more glaring.

I was hoping to see more nominations for Justified. I mean really, Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey again?? Hugh Laurie again?? I love those shows, but there are people much more deserving of being recognized. Mae Whitman from Parenthood and Shawn Hatosy from Southland were robbed!
