'Cougar Town' renewed, moves to TBS

'Cougar Town' has been renewed, but not by ABC.  Cable network TBS has ordered a 4th season of the show to begin airing in early 2013.

TBS has also purchased the rights to the first 61 episodes of the show that originally aired on ABC.

"Cougar Town is a smart, whimsical sitcom that draws its humor from likable, relatable characters." said Michael Wright, President, Head of Programming for TBS.  "We are thrilled to have Cougar Town moving to the TBS neighborhood as the network continues to expand its slate of original comedy series."

The program, which made its third-season debut in midseason, has been adequate in a Tuesday timeslot following "Last Man Standing" but was not expected to be part of ABC's 2012-13 plans.
