AMC's remake of the 60's cult classic 'The Prisoner' opened strong for the cable network.The show drew 2.2 million viewers in it's Sunday night timeslot. This matches the ratings that 'Mad Men' normally gets in that same period.
AMC is hoping this show will be a nice off-season replacement for 'Mad Men.' The network is trying to compete with the original dramas of other cable networks such as FX, USA, and TNT.
