DWTS first elimination is a surprise

'Dancing With The Stars' first elimination of the season surprised pretty much everyone.  It was widely thought that Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin would be the bottom 2 last ngiht.

Pam Anderson, who had the fifth highest judges' score, wound up in the bottom two.  Buzz Aldrin who had the lowest judges' score was safe from elimination, all because America voted.  This is what is so crazy about 'DWTS' results, someone who is a talented dancer but un-liked by America can get the boot, but someone who is a horrific dancer but loved by America can stay on.

Shannen Doherty, while not great, was certainly better than Buzz and Kate, yet she ended up in the bottom 2 along with Pam.

In the end, Shannen was the one to go.  I guess out of Pam and Shannen, Shannen should have gone.  However neither one should have been in the final two.  It appears as though this season could just turn into a popularity contest, and I guess that shouldn't be a big surprise.
